Dear colleagues in hospitality
Are you ready to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in our restaurants, bars, and cafes today – labour productivity? We understand the struggles you've faced over the past few years, especially with the added complexities brought about by the pandemic. The scarcity of skilled resources and the ever-increasing costs of employment have left many of us searching for solutions. The daily demands, from compliance tasks to the unique requirements of home delivery and catering, continue to mount.
That's where we come in. We are the Innovation Working Group, a vital component of The Hospitality Sector Council, a collaborative effort between industry leaders and the government to deliver the first-ever Hospitality Strategy. Our focus is clear: to support each other in the brilliant world of hospitality by addressing the most significant challenges we face today. And one of these challenges is undoubtedly labour productivity.
To inspire creativity, drive growth, and foster collaboration, we've designed a one-day event that brings together industry operators like yourself, innovation experts, technologists, researchers, policymakers, and professionals from related fields. Our goal is simple – to co-create innovative ideas and solutions that will benefit all of us in the industry. This event presents a unique opportunity to network and, more importantly, to leave with actionable strategies to tackle our labour-related challenges.
If you are an operator for a restaurant, pub, bar or cafe, we invite you to apply for this exclusive event hosted by Oxford Brookes Business School on the 22 May 2024 at Oxford Brookes University. We are looking for operators who are keen to explore creative ideas and solutions with others in the industry, academics and innovators. The Hospitality Sector Council and our partners are generously covering the costs of the day, with the only expense for you being your travel. Places are very limited so even if your application unsuccessful, we will keep you updated with learnings and insights from the event, and you will be considered for future innovation days.
If this opportunity excites you, then apply for a place by clicking on this link. It's a simple process that should take no longer than 15 minutes - requiring some basic information about your business and your views and experiences regarding labour productivity. We believe that sending a couple of colleagues from your team will maximize the benefits, allowing you to bring back valuable insights together.
We look forward to an incredible session of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Together, we can conquer the labour productivity challenges facing our industry.
We hope that you will join us!
